Why?

What do people come to counselling for? People often come for counselling when they are struggling with emotional problems such as:

  • feeling stressed and anxious
  • anger & frustration
  • losses – bereavement, divorce or redundancy
  • lacking confidence, low self-esteem or having feelings of underachievement
  • an inability to make or sustain good friendships & relationships
  • repeatedly becoming involved in unsatisfactory or destructive relationships
  • feeling depressed, sad, numb or empty
  • lacking a sense of purpose in life, feeling lost
  • having unresolved issues from the past
  • difficulties relating to sexuality or gender
  • abuse
  • problems at work
  • family conflicts
  • Post natal & menopausal depression

I also offer:

  •  Young People’s Counselling from Year 12, (16 yrs old +). I have worked with young people for over 10 years at schools and universities. The counselling can be in the counselling room using tools such as play therapy, drawing, stories, puppets etc. Or it can be in the woods and more nature focused Walk-Talk Therapy.
